Time For Valentines.....

It's not quite February yet....I've done some Valentine cards....but I can't wait to do more...

This card was made with strips of paper from my scrapbox, a Martha Stewart flower punch, a Cuttlebug Heart die and some brads....easy as pie! The black edge on the bottom of the card is just the back of my scanner...not ideal...but it does show off the scalloped edge of the card.

My card for the last day of the sale was made using the OBP stamp called "cathrine's rake". Look carefully at the large flowers on this card....the stem is the rake.

I'm not sure about you....but after the the fuss and feathers of Christmas and New Year's......I sometimes forget that there are other holidays to celebrate during the year. So...although it might be a bit early for Easter...this little pink owl is all ready for it in her new bonnet.

While the Odd Bird Planet Stamp Sale is still going on...here is a baby card using one of the stamps now on sale..... "Little One". The usual pinks and blues associated with baby cards are traditional and beautiful...but it was fun doing a baby card in deep colors. One more Odd Bird Planet stamp used on this card is Kelly's Rocking Horse Right.....one of my favorite stamps.

2009...The Year Of The Cow....

Cards Using The Odd Bird Planet Fairytale Kit....

A few days ago... I posted about the justjohanna Odd Bird Planet Chinese New Year Sale. Yesterday I posted about the wonderful Fairytale Kit that will be part of this special sale. Today...I've posted two cards that I completed when the Fairytale Kit first came out. This is one of those kits that really starts your imagination rolling....

Card Two For the OBP Chinese New Year Sale!

My second card for the OBP Chinese New Year Sale uses a Odd Bird Planet Stamp called "Dianne's Vampire Claire Right" 1682H. It's not anywhere near Halloween (When you would normally expect to see a Vampire)....so I turned the vampire bird into the Transylvanian Tooth Fairy...and no...I haven't been drinking.

Here is a sample card made with one of the sale stamps....Tim's One Eyed Bat....I stamped the bat twice, cut them out.....and turned them into the blades of a little Dutch windmill.

Snow, Snow...and A Little More Snow.

Since we're now well into a really wintery winter season...including blizzards, frost, icicles, flakes and gusts of icy wind....I thought I'd make a snow inspired card. This one uses the OddBirdPlanet Barn stamp.....and a friendly snowman. :)

My First Layout In Ages....

This layout of my now nine year old granddaughter Andie was made using Marnie's "Wellies" Challenge......six gorgeous boots in various prints and textures.....I chose the houndstooth wellie . The houndstooth print showed up really well with the blues and greens of the BoBunny Double Dots paper against the black background and with the black and white photo. The buttons are chipboard buttons that I love and have been hoarding for a long time.....they matched the layout so well...it was time to use them.

The photo: Andie doesn't usually like smiling for photos...but with this photo...we're getting there. I call it her "Mona Lisa" smile. I think it's perfect...and perfectly Andie.

It's Going To Snow Tonight...Again

The timing for these snowstorms is amazing. Yesterday I didn't have to be anywhere special...the sun was shining...it was a beautiful day. Today I have an appointment at 9:00 am....just when we should have between 4-8 inches of snow plopped on us. I have to remember to put the bag of salt, the shovel and the snow brush back into my trunk...along with my bag of Quaker Oat Squares and a bottle of water. In case you think I'm being a little overprepared.....I was once stuck in my car during a blizzard in Chicago...I left work downtown at 5:30 pm and got home at midnight. Thank heaven it was Valentine's Day...on the way home I got hungry and I ate the candy that my husband had sent to me at work. :) :):)

But snow isn't all bad.....to show one of the things that make snow fun....here's a card from a set that I made to sell at a Christmas Fair. I'm almost glad that the set didn't sell (Almost)...now I get to keep the little snowman with his warm hat, scarf and mittens. Anyway...if it's snowing by you......drive carefully, keep warm and enjoy the beauty of it.

Getting Back to CardMaking and Scrapbooking...

After the hectic Christmas rush (Which just ended for me today when I took the tree down and put the last box in the basement)...there seems to be no creativity left in me. I must have shoved it into that last box....it's now packed away until next year. :( I thought that browsing through the scans of cards and layouts that I made last year might help...and I found this card that I made for the OddBird Planet....the sentiment on it is "Wish Upon A Star".

If there were any stars out tonight (It's snowing)....I would wish for a little boost to my creativity.

What Snowmen Wear To A Party....

Andie's birthday is on December 19th...right before Christmas....and this year it was really cold with lots of snow. This little guy was the greeter in front of the house for her party. He was very cool (Literally)...and very fashionably dressed. I loved the glow stick for his mouth!

Just Something To Make You Smile....

This is Cory...my mom's lovebird. He was staying at my house because the vet was coming....and I think he thoroughly enjoyed himself in my kitchen. The faucet seemed to be the perfect perch for him. He could see everyone in the room and all the birds outside....:)
