Another OBP Earth Day Challenge Card...

This card was for Marnie's Magazine Page Challenge...to incorporate one of the wonderful pages from a magazine onto your card. I punched flowers from a few of the glossy pages of a Martha Stewart Living Magazine...deep purples and greens...added some extra cardstock petals for more dimension...and tucked in a little OBP bird Karrie's Theo Owl to hide under the flowers.

The Cards From Earth Day Challenges...

I didn't get to do all the challenges from the Odd Bird Planet Earth Day Celebration....I'm still working on them...(Okay...I'm slow :)...but I wanted to post one or two that I've finished. These were great challenges.

Fun and...well...challenging!

The first one is Suzy's Paper Bag Challenge...I used the OddBirdPlanet Castle Stamp on a paper bag (A very thin, waxy paper bag), cut it out, chalked the edges and adhered it to my card. A little bird found it....and moved in for the summer.

The border on the bottom edge of the card was cut from the paper bag too...using my MS Lattice Border Punch...my current favorite punch.

My Earth Day Challenge...Egg Cartons!

What do YOU do with all your old egg cartons? Do you have the styrofoam cartons or the pressed cardboard? I have a few cartons left from all the egg goodies at Easter...I usually just put them into the Recycle Bin...but today I have other ideas for them.

My challenge for Earth Day is to use your egg cartons on cards, altered items or scrapbook pages...in any way that your creative mind finds appealing. Today I'm using the pressed paper egg cartons.....and they're really fun to work with. They take color really well...you can paint them, use Copic Markers on them (My favorite), chalk inks are great to use too! The cartons are easily cut into shapes...or you can use your die cut machine on them. I used my Cuttlebug with my Nestibilities dies for some of my shapes....and hand cut others. The photos show two views of my sample cards for this challenge:

You Are My Sunshine Card - I used one of the Nestibilities dies to cut the mini

quilts on the card; and colored them with Copic

markers. The trees are Odd Bird Planet's Kelly's Tree.

What The Early Bird Gets - The birdie's body shape was made using

the Odd Bird Planet Stamp - Plain Perch. I stamped

onto the egg carton, colored it with Copic Markers

and cut it out. The wings are cut with Nestibilities

dies and cut in half to make wings. Her crest and legs are made with the OBP Long Legged Flo stamp.

These are just two ideas...let me see all of your wonderful new ways to use the egg cartons! Have a great time this Earth Day!

Another Birthday Card....

Another card using the My Mind's Eye papers...29th Street Market. I like the soft colors and the way they blend together...

Birthdays Are Coming....

Right now the weather is yucky...chilly and wet...but the weatherman is promising 80's by Saturday...we'll see if he keeps his promise. In the meantime, if warm weather is really coming that means summer...and in my family that means birthdays...lots of them. I need to start getting some of the birthday cards made so I'll be ready. This card was made with My Mind's Eye Paper....29th Street Market.

Easter And Leftovers....:)

After any holiday...I love the leftovers...Easter is no exception. Leftover Easter ham, leftover lamb cake, leftover jelly beans, leftover chocolate bunnies...I'm in heaven. While I'm wallowing in Easter goodies....I have a couple of leftover Easter cards to post...then I promise to move on to the next holiday!

The first bunny card was made using Odd Bird Planet Stamps. I used the Heart With Flower Stamp for the bunny's ears...Kelly's Tree Stamp for his tail and the Plain Perch for his body. He has huge feet...but those I just cut out myself. :)

Easter Three Years Ago...

Here they are...my two sweet little Easter egg hunters and Easter basket unloaders at our egg hunt three years ago. I do have photos of the last couple of years...these just caught my eye.

My granddaughters are growing up so fast...I want them to stay little...for a lot more Easter Egg Hunts.
