Happy Father's Day....

To all the wonderful Dads, Granddads, Great Granddads and Fathers-To-Be out there.....

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

I hope that you get to celebrate your day in whatever way is perfect for you....

To my husband...I hope that the above includes getting into the car and going to buy ice cream for both of us...after all...you wouldn't be a Father without me.

PS....I love you! :)

Tomorrow Is Father's Day....

Are your cards ready? Gifts purchased or made? Goodies ready for feasting? Mine are not....yet. Well, I do have one card done....and the rest will be accomplished soon. I work better under pressure. :)

This card features soft blues and greens and two little OddBirdPlanet Owls....Flo (Oooops...when I made the card I thought Flo was a "He") and Owlbert Little Owl. Both of these adorable little stamps are available at www.oddbirdplanet.com .

Another Trinket Box...

I love making trinket boxes...there's something really satisfying and calming about taking a plain chipboard box and turning it into something pretty...or unusual. I make up stories about each box I make....where it's going, who will love it and take care of it...and what kinds of things will be kept in it. Sometimes I get too attached...it's hard to send them to their new owners...
This is the latest trinket box that I've finished...the woman ordering it had special requests. Her daughter was going away to college and she wanted the box to reflect the school (Johns Hopkins University-the school colors are light blue and white), her daughter's classes (The 3 books are classes she'll be taking)...and her daughter's studiousness (She received a fellowship grant from the Woodrow Wilson National Foundation.)

A Baby Girl Card...

I love paper piecing (Surprised aren't you? :) )

Making something out of a few bits of leftover paper has never lost it's appeal to me. Neither has buying patterned paper at every given opportunity...after all...the leftover paper bits have to come from somewhere.

This congratulations card for a new baby girl is my latest paper pieced card...another from all those bits of paper!

YART SALE on Etsy.....

A Yart Sale is a combination " Yard" Sale and "Art" Sale ....both wonderful things...so a combination of them is fantastic!

Etsy's Second Annual YART SALE will be held Wednesday June 10th until Sunday June 14th !
Come and see all the great bargains, deals and fun going on...you never know what you'll find...click here to get to the ETSY YART SALE!

An Etsy Treasury...

This is my new treasury on Etsy called "Tickled By Teapots". It's a collection of teapot prints, notecards (and one fabric patchwork piece).

Thank you to Marnie for figuring out how to copy it (Not an easy thing to do) so that I can show it to you. Doing a treasury on Etsy is exciting and takes patience ...you have to wait until the treasury opens and then grab one quickly because there are 800 other people waiting to get one too.

But it gives you a chance to look through the thousands of shops for the exact items that you'd like to have in your own little gallery. Take a look at the hundreds of Treasuries...and the unlimited treasures. http://www.etsy.com/treasury.php

Baa...Baa...Baa...

"We are poor little lambs who have lost our way...Baa...Baa...Baa..."

The entire time I worked on these tags.....I kept humming that song over and over.
They are most definitely "Poor little lambs". They had to listen to me sing the whole time.

Sunflower Seed Packet Tag...

I've made a few seed packet tags lately...using several different flowers...morning glories, cosmos, even watermelon. The tag in the photos is using the last pack of seeds that I bought to make the tags with...Sunflower seeds.
I wanted to use a paper pieced sunflower...but couldn't find the right die for it . So I decided to make a ribbon flower...it turned out okay...but I think that the paper flower would have worked out a little better. (I was just too lazy to cut the flower out by hand) I really liked making these tags...and I keep wanting to go back to the store to get more seed packs...but I'm afraid that people receiving them wouldn't have enough time to plant them for this season. But...don't you think a seed packet tag made with a pack of pumpkin seeds in it and decorated for Halloween would be good?
